I work in both private practice and for the National Health Service. My NHS appointment is to the Royal London Hospital. I was appointed as a Consultant in April 1998.
I am an experienced Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon and I work at one of the UK’s busiest trauma hospitals. The Royal London Hospital provides a comprehensive trauma service to both adults and children and has been designated a Level 1 trauma centre. We also provide a tertiary referral service for paediatric orthopaedic conditions for South East England.
I am happy to see and manage all aspects of children's orthopaedics including hip, knee and foot problems and conditions affecting the upper limb. Children with cerebral palsy are referred on to one of my paediatric orthopaedic colleagues.
I am fully trained and experienced in adult orthopaedics. My practice includes foot and ankle surgery as well as fractures and their complications, such as mal unions, non unions and limb length inequalities.
I am an honorary Senior Lecturer in the department of Medical Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London. I have a research interest in the mechanical properties of external fixators.
I teach medical students and medical engineering students as well as lecturing on postgraduate courses in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
